Rising Above the Clouds: Celebrating Women and Four Years of ULAP.org

Four years ago, ULAP.org was launched. More than just marking an anniversary, we want to celebrate the women behind ULAP.org—two women who share a deep passion and a common vision. They saw a gap, a need, a potential waiting to be unleashed within underrepresented individuals. They envisioned an inclusive tech community, a place where opportunity wasn’t a privilege but a given. And so, ULAP.org was created.

More Than Just Founders

Marilag Svennevig and Michelle Tabirao recognized the power of cloud computing, IT, and innovative technologies and were determined to provide equal opportunity to all. They poured their hearts into creating a space where individuals could learn, grow, and connect, navigating the tech world not just as leaders, but as mentors, advocates, and role models. They’ve proven that women don’t just belong in tech; they lead, innovate, and inspire.

Four Years of Milestones

On ULAP.org’s 4th anniversary, we can’t help but marvel at the journey. From the initial spark of an idea from these two women to the small but ambitious community we see today, the progress has been remarkable. Last year, in the same month as our anniversary, we launched our second cohort scholarship program. We now have 7 Azure scholars who successfully passed the Azure Fundamentals Certification, and 19 scholars who completed the Azure and/or GitHub trainings, as well as group and one-on-one mentorship. We are also currently preparing our GitHub scholars for the GitHub Admin Certification Exam.

The Heart of ULAP.org: Community

ULAP.org is more than an organization; it’s a community. It’s built on the unwavering support of sponsors Dewise and Solidify, partners, volunteers, and countless individuals who share the same vision. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration, the belief that together, we can achieve more than we ever could alone.

Looking Ahead: Building, Inspiring, Empowering

As we look to the future, our commitment remains unwavering. We will continue to motivate, prepare, and guide underrepresented individuals in reaching their full potential.

This International Women’s Day, let us celebrate the women who are shaping our world, the women who are breaking barriers, and the women who are inspiring generations to come.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the incredible women and Happy 4th Anniversary to the entire ULAP.org community.

Mabuhay! Let’s continue to build, inspire, and empower!
