At ULAP.org, we always say that we do small things with great love. Our community is driven by passion and commitment to actions that embody the cycle of learning, listening, iterating, and implementing. Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the ULAP.org Scholarship Program Cohort 2– Cloud and DevOps Associate Program. 🚀
This year’s program expands our reach. We are continuing to serve scholars in the Philippines and extending our reach to Indonesia. Additionally, this year’s cohort welcomes student scholars and career shifters eager to transition into the tech industry.
ULAP.org stands for Underrepresented Learning Assistance Program, and in Filipino, “ulap” means cloud, symbolizing our aspirations and reach. The non-profit is based in Denmark. However, we focus our efforts predominantly on Southeast Asia, driven by our mission, which is centred on community and technology. Our community mission focuses on individual stories of community members, understanding the need for help, and how to obtain the resources to succeed and win in tech. In technology, our goal is to master modern tools to achieve sustainable innovation. We serve our target audience—those who are underrepresented in tech or belong to underrepresented groups. Our audience includes individuals facing financial barriers to advancing their tech skills, career shifters aiming to transition into tech, and those underrepresented in tech due to representation.
This cohort holds a special place in our hearts for many reasons. We received hundreds of applications, conducted countless video interviews, and welcomed numerous referrals from our partners. Every effort was worth it, as we were privileged to encounter many well-crafted applications filled with inspiring personal stories to get to this point. Each scholar’s journey is unique and genuine, yet all share a common goal: building, innovating, and uplifting communities. It is our honor to support and guide these scholars. They will achieve far more than we can imagine, not just in their tech careers but in many aspects of their lives.
We would like to congratulate our Cohort 2 scholars namely:
Christian Ortiz, Aubrey Joy Pugahac Tejada, Jaie Mc Clarense Sanga, Samuel Nick Nunez Abarra, Elhaiza Rusper Cuevas, Eleigh Anne Aveno, Alpha Romer Coma, Ezekielle Louise Marie Gambong, Hezekiah Saif Palmes, Reniel Zamora Agulan, Fadli Bilal Afifuddin, Mary Jane Calulang, Divino Franco Aurellano, Krischelle Cadao, Mark Anthony Hernandez, Jerico Delos Reyes Jr., Kimberly Joy Secima, John Kyle Panta, Muhammad Aldi Syafrillah Hidayat.
Building a nonprofit organization, a passion project, is a big undertaking and a profound responsibility for us. Launching this new cohort would not have been possible without the invaluable support of our partners, Solidify and Dewise, and our incredible volunteers. We couldn’t thank our volunteers more, who never stopped amplifying our message to the world and continuously fostering connections amongst the community members.
From the ULAP.org core team, including the founders Marilag and myself, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all our scholarship applicants, scholars, partners, and volunteers. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to launch our program and for your support. This organization will continue to motivate, prepare, and guide individuals through technology and community building. We believe that even the small things we do when done with great love, can make a significant impact.
